About Yasotorn

Welcome to Yasotorn Thai Restaurant! Our unique and very special Thai flavor is deeply rooted in our traditional heritage, originating from the northeastern province of Thailand, Yasothon. We invite you to take a moment to learn about our rich history below. Most importantly, we hope you enjoy the warm and friendly dining atmosphere and savor our delicious food!

Yasothon, formerly known as Mueang Yot Nakhon, boasts a long and storied history dating back to 1814, during the reign of King Rama II. It was then that King Rama II graciously renamed Sing Tha Village to Yot Nakhon City, appointing Phra Sunthorn Rajawongsa as its first ruler. At that time, Thailand was an absolute monarchy, and Yot Nakhon was a small town within Ubon Ratchathani province.

Significant changes came during the reign of King Rama VII. Following a revolution in Thailand, the democratic regime was established by the People's Party in 1971. This political shift led to the reorganization of some large districts into separate provinces. Consequently, on March 1, 1972, Yot Nakhon was officially designated as Yasothon Province, becoming the 71st province out of Thailand's 77. The transition was marked by the appointment of the Deputy Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province as the governor of the newly formed Yasothon Province.

This rich history informs the culinary traditions we cherish and share at our restaurant. We're proud to bring a taste of Yasothon's heritage to your table.
